Fondo Publico. No Denomination, 1816-20. P-UNL, V-1r. Remainder. PMG Very Fine 25 Net. Corner Missing, Previously Mounted, Stains. These are considered to be precursors to paper money. While they did not freely circulate, they were sometimes exchanged between people. The denominations, interest rates and length of time to redemption were hand-written. These notes have the earliest coat of arms for Buenos Ayres which was not used on any subsequent issue of paper money. When they were redeemed, a large triangular piece was cut from the bottom of the note and the signatures were blackened so it could not be used again. They are also illustrated and discussed in the Nusdeo-Conno catalog.PMG Very Fine 25 Net. Corner Missing, Previously Mounted, Stains.
