1891 Morgan Silver Dollar. MS-65 (NGC).The lovely satin white surfaces of this silver dollar are highly lustrous with smooth Gem-quality. A sharp strike adds to the appeal. The Philadelphia Mint produced 8,693,556 Morgan dollars in 1891, much of the bullion for this issue coming from the recoinage of trade dollars from Treasury Department stocks, as stipulated by the Act of March 3, 1891. Although this issue is available in an absolute sense, Gems such as this are scarce from a condition standpoint. From the Beasley Collection.
