Including all varieties, 131,529 examples of the 1880-CC were distributed through the GSA sales of the 1970s, 26.57% of the 495,000-piece mintage. While examples of the VAM-4 variety in original GSA holders are seen now and then, they are scarce in an absolute sense, and rare in the finest Mint State grades, as here.
