1798/7 Draped Bust Dime. JR-2. Rarity-5+. 13 Stars on Reverse. AG Details--Bent (PCGS).Original toning in a blend of antique gold and blue-gray provides a relatively pleasing appearance for this more affordable example. Isolated peripheral devices are soft or absent, but otherwise there is suitable outline definition to most devices. The "bend" is not readily evident through the PCGS holder, and a few scattered marks on the obverse are commensurate with the assigned details grade. This is the rarest Guide Book variety of the 1798 Draped Bust dime, with an extant population in the range of just 25 to 35 coins. Sure to appeal to early dime variety specialists. From the Boston Old City Hall Collection.
