AU-55 (PCGS).A thoroughly appealing example of the type with satiny antique copper surfaces and bold to sharp detail over virtually all design elements. Most handling marks are small in size and easily overlooked by the unaided eye, although accuracy does compel us to mention a few wispy grazes on and above Washingtons head. The Small Buttons obverse is the more conditionally challenging of the two Grate Halfpenny varieties, which fact confirms the significance of this Choice AU for the advanced Washingtoniana collector.
