The Minted Ten-Cash Coins of China

CHINA. Shansi. 10 Cash, ND (1919). PCGS AU-58 Secure Holder.CL-MG.114; Duan-3281; CCC-661; W-1225 (A-30(under Article XIV)); Y-A435. VERY RARE. Woodward (pg. 134) states "The modern mint, which is situated in the arsenal of Tai-yuan Fu, was established in 1919, producing ten-cash republican pieces of the design as designated in my Article XIV under the numbers 1050 up to 1060, inclusive. The unique piece bearing the name of the province was only a trial coin, and is not found in circulation, as few pieces only were made." In Woodwards statement he says "unique", he is referring to the design bearing the province name and not the actual coin itself. Well struck with an attractive mocha patina.
