1883 Hawaii Dollar. Medcalf-Russell 2CS-5. MS-63 (PCGS). CAC.,Lovely and scarce Choice quality for this challenging type. Minimally toned in the centers, especially on the reverse, both sides are ringed in vivid reddish-gold peripheral iridescence. Boldly struck with billowy satin luster throughout, this is an exceptionally attractive example for both the type and the assigned grade. The scarcest and most conditionally challenging of the 1883 Kingdom of Hawaii silver issues, the dollar has a mintage of 500,000 pieces, 453,652 examples of which were redeemed. The typically encountered survivor in todays market is circulated to one degree or another, often impaired due to cleaning or other problems. This fully Uncirculated piece is a significant find for the advanced Hawaiiana collector.,,
