1788 Massachusetts Cent. Ryder 11-F, W-6310. Rarity-5-. Period After MASSACHUSETTS, Slim Indian. EF-45.,140.9 grains. A very high grade for a Ryder 11-F, most of which are Very Fine or less, notwithstanding a few Mint State survivors. This piece verges on AU in terms of wear, but a slightly tapered planchet in the area of the date and the adjacent area of the obverse has resulted in a weak strike in that zone, where the rough original unstruck planchet surface is showing through. The strike is otherwise razor sharp everywhere else on this glossy, chocolate brown coin, which exhibits some very minor surface hairlines on the obverse side. Here is an overall very pleasing specimen of this condition scarcity.,From the Michael Demling Collection of Massachusetts Cents. ,
