1723/2 Rosa Americana Halfpenny. Martin 3.1-D.1, W-1226. Rarity-6. Uncrowned Rose. VF-20 (PCGS).,Blended antique brass and olive-brown patina greets the viewer from both sides of this handsome mid grade example. Struck trivially off center on an ovoid planchet, although all major design elements are bold apart from those along the upper right and lower left reverse borders. A tiny planchet pit in the obverse field before King Georges neck is the only singularly mentionable blemish. Only three die marriages of the Uncrowned Rose Guide Book variety of the 1723 Rosa Americana halfpenny are known, using two obverse and two reverse dies. Two of these varieties are overdates, Martin 3.1-D.1 the rarest of all three known pairings.,,
