1652 Pine Tree Shilling. Small Planchet. Noe-30, Salmon 12-G, W-935. Rarity-3. VF-35 (PCGS).,This handsome piece has pewter and dove gray patina nicely blended over predominantly smooth surfaces. There are no significant marks. The peripheries are a bit rough in places where a soft strike has left original planchet texture. Many of the peripheral devices are wholly or partially absent, due mostly to the aforementioned softness of strike, although this feature is particularly pronounced at the left reverse border where an off center impression is noted. Central design elements are bold and the basic design is fully appreciable. Noe-30 is one of the more popular type candidates among Small Planchet Pine Tree shillings, and it also features some of the most simplified die engraving in the series. The tree, in particular, is very basic with little in the way of fine detail, as prepared.,,
