London arrival on the reverse (31.8).Carried by Consular Mail to catch the Trans-Caspian railway. According to the records of the Royal Geographical Society, the sender was Sir John Littledale, who was in Kashgar at this time. The letter was carried to Osh via the Pamir MountainsFresh and fine, a delightful three-colour franking paying the 10k. internatinal rate. Photo
