1747年墨西哥斐迪南六世8埃斯库多 PCGS AU Details
Fr-13; KM-149; Cal-Type 12#33. VERY RARE. Imaginary bust design struck before the Madrid Mint delivered definitive standard portrait punches of the new monarch. Armored bust right, legend around; Reverse: Small crowned shield in the Collar of the Golden Fleece flanked by Assayers initials and *8*. The Latin legend "INITIUM SAPIENTIAE TIMOR DOMINI" (Beginning of Wisdom is Fear of the Lord), is the same as that employed by the preceding King, Philip V. This type represents an early occurrence of a Spanish Colonial mint resorting to emergency measures in order to assure adequate coinage production in the absence of an approved design. Despite being cleaned long ago an attractive example with glossy mirrored surfaces remain within the protected areas of the legends, with warm attractive honey gold tone at the centers which seamlessly transitions to a red-orange terminating at the edges. This is a KEY ONE YEAR TYPE and bidders may have to wait awhile to get their hands on another. A handsome piece sure to see spirited bidding. PCGS Genuine--Cleaned, AU Details Secure Holder.
