Y-14; JNDA-01-12. From a three-year type struck 1875-77 in an unsuccessful attempt to displace the Mexican peso from the China trade. Many were later countermarked with "Gin" and dumped in Taiwan, seized by Japan from China in 1895. Unlike most, this specimen has original toning and no signs of abuse. Sharply struck and quite attractive. NGC MS-62.
