Light silver gray with some brightness and scattered hairlines on both sides. Well struck and attractive, free of any significant marks. A little patch of granularity is noted at the reverse periphery left of Q in QUITO. A popular type as the only proper 8 Reales of Ecuador (i.e. not a countermark), struck only this year. A very elusive and classic issue. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian and Ecuadorian Coins.
