Located in the Northwest Territories, the district of Ungava covered most of what is today northern Quebec from 1895-1920, but effectively ceased operation when the Quebec Boundaries Extension Act, 1912. It wasnt until 1920 when the remaining uninhabited offshore islands were incorporated to the District of Keewatin that the District of Ungava Formally ceased to exist. An interesting piece of Canadian History from a short lived region that is not to be missed. Minor earthen deposits amongst the devices give a nice natural look with hints of luster peaking through.
