Lot 1995 TIBET: Xuan Tong, 1909-1911, AR 2 sho 406.15g41, ND 40191041, Y-6 var, YZM-433-437, LM-652, lotus design at center, with Chinese inscription xuan tong bao zang 40Tibetan money of the Xuan Tong era41 dragon at center, surrounded by a string of pearls and Tibetan inscription: shon thong bod kyi rin khor khu phon zho do 40Xuan Tong, precious coin of two sho, [struck] to the kuping standard41, PCGS graded F12, R, ex George Anderson Collection. The Tibetan legend 34rin khor3434 is most probably a phonetic spelling of 34rin sgor34 which means 34precious coin34. Kuping 40transcribed as khu phon in Tibetan41 34treasury standard34 or 34treasury scale34 refers to the Kuping silver tael, the standard weight of which was fixed at 37.3121g in the late Qing Dynasty for payment of government taxes.
