Lot 1758 QING: Xian Feng， 1850-1861， AE 100 cash， Suzhou mint， Jiangsu Province， H-22.914， 60mm， brass 40huaacuteng toacuteng41 color， cast 1854-55， VF. Jiangsu Province was particularly affected during the Taiping rebellion and several branch mints were set up outside the main mint in Suzhou. A mint was set up in Zhun39an 40now Qingjiang41 and Dunxin. Two auxillary mints were set up to handle the demand， the first called 34Emergency Preparations34 40Choufang41 and another called 34Relief Preparations34 40Chouji41. All casting of large value coins ended in September 1855 in Jiangsu as they had fallen out of favor.Photo size reduced.
