1796 Draped Bust Quarter. B-2. Rarity-3. VG Details--Cleaning (PCGS).,A generally pale golden-gray example with warmer dove gray retoning in and around the central obverse. That side of the coin retains full denticulation around the borders, all devices boldly outlined and the design readily appreciable. The reverse is worn nearly smooth at the lower left border with the letter F in OF and the first A in AMERICA faint, but otherwise we note outline detail to the devices on that side. A bit glossy in texture to explain the PCGS qualifier, yet free of sizeable marks and relatively pleasing in hand. The historic and scarce 1796 Draped Bust, Small Eagle quarter is a strong performer at all levels of preservation, an example of this issue required for completion of a regular issue U.S. coin type set.,PCGS# 5310.
