Unfortunately this rare and lovely medal has deep gouges on both sides, a concentration of scratches near the lower right reverse border, and small digs at 4 oclock on the border relative to the obverse. Issued from 1920 to the present day, currently on an approximately yearly basis, for acts of heroism and bravery in the line of duty.
