Cameo contrast is bold and pronounced, with the satiny devices appearing to float atop the deep reflective fields. A loupe reveals subtle "orange peel" texture in the fields, a characteristic for which many late 19th century Proof Liberty Head double eagles are known. Not even the closest inspection calls forth a significant blemish.
