HERACLIUS, 610-641. AV Solidus (4.45 gms), Uncertain Eastern Mint (Jerusalem?), ca. A.D. 613-641.cf.S-851. Crowned, draped and bearded bust of Heraclius facing on left, smaller crowned and draped bust of Heraclius Constantine on right, cross above; Reverse: Cross potent on three steps. Struck at a military mint traveling with Heraclius as he repelled the Sassanians. Areas of weak strike at the periphery but the busts are crisp and the luster is strong.
