Gem Uncirculated.This jaw dropping 100,000 Piso from the Central Bank of the Philippines is part of the Centennial of the First Republic Commemorative issues. Similar in size to the highly collectible Ming Dynasty Pick AA10 notes, this very pleasing piece is seen without any hints of circulation and boardwalk margins. A piece made to commemorate the 100 Years of the First Republic, this note bears a Kalayaan Centennial Seal on both the face and the reverse. A shiny and silver Security Foil with holograms of the Centennial "100" design is observed in monogrammed fashion cascading down the strip. The front image features a crowd greeting former Philippines President Fidel "Eddy" Valdez Ramos. The reverse shows what would follow that scene. Fidel Ramos is observed flying the Philippine flag in Cavite, at the Aguinaldo Shrine. Men seen on both side with their arms in the air, with the reverse showing hats flying in celebration. The note is encapsulated in a clear case with screws in each corner, with a Certificate of Issuance that mentions that this piece is limited with only One Thousand being issued. Both the Note, and its Certificate are placed in a decorative velvet box of the Philippine colors blue and red. The seal of the Central Bank is seen on the inside of the top of the box. The Official Centennial Seal is seen on top of the box when closed. It is then wrapped in a white cover with a styrofoam inside of it, and tied together by decorative red and blue rope. We believe this piece will receive very spirited bidding as the majority of these pieces rest within the hands of diplomats and are not readily available for collectors. This very rare piece is sure to bring quite a bit of attention. Our estimate may seem very conservative when the hammer falls.
