Highly lustrous with a smooth satin texture, this fully struck and expertly preserved example ranks as the finest certified survivor from a mintage of 906,750 circulation strikes. The 1871 is plentiful enough in lower circulated grades, but EF and AU survivors are scarce while those in Mint State are very scarce to rare in numismatic circles. This piece belongs in the finest Liberty Seated dime set.
