1884 Pattern Annular, or Ring-Form Cent. Judd-1721, Pollock-1929. Rarity-5. Nickel. Plain Edge. Proof-66 Cameo (PCGS). CAC.Obv: The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA above and the date 1884 below a hand-cut perforation. Rev: The denomination ONE CENT above and an inverted shield flanked by two laurel sprigs below the perforation. A minimally toned, overall brilliant example of Eastman Johnsons "holey" cent design. Approximately two dozen examples are known for the scarce Judd-1721 type struck in nickel, and this is certainly one of the finest certified.
