Parsons, Kansas. $50 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 679. The First NB. Charter #1951. PMG Very Fine 25.This is one of only 15 $50 Plain Backs recorded from all banks in Kansas, and the only known Plain Back on this institution that elected to only print $50 and $100 notes starting with the Third Charter period and into Small size. The bank was chartered in 1872, and operated throughout the entire National Banking era. Pen signatures in blue and black catch ones eye on this problem free example. PMG notes "Internal Tear" which is very minor and does not take away from the overall eye appeal of the note.
