CHINA. Kirin. Pattern 5 Mace Struck in Silver, (1885).Kann-921; KM-PnA9; Wenchao-pg.283 #393 (rarity five stars). Other than what can be ascertained from the inscription, very little is known about this RARE issue. Some authorities believe it to be a pattern, while others speculate that it may be a failed attempt at a circulation issue that was met with disfavor and mainly melted. Whichever the case, it is clear that it is seldom encountered and should be considered RARE.NGC AU-55.Wa She Wong Collection
