CHINA--EMPIRE. Ta-Ching Government Bank. $10, 1.9.1906. P-NL.(S/M#T10-) A note that along with the previous lot will be two items that can greatly enhance any collection they enter. The design is one that is highly popular with Dollar Hankow notes typically being the norm at public sale. Occasionally these higher denomination notes will be presented but are generally from a more available branch and well worn. This outstanding item goes against all these trends with a rare Fengtien branch noticed engraved at lower center on face and back and in Chinese and English respectively. Close inspection reveals terrific detail of the design with a light yellow under-print and nice detail of the crossed flags at upper center. The back is seen in the familiar layout with this $10 note showing a light blue under-printing with the denomination repeated and green inks making up the primary design. Purple signed signatures are at their respective titles. The quality of the note is as equally impressive as the rarity with only a few minor corner folds present and none extending through the body of the note. Some well executed repair work in the margins is noticed and typical for the issue along with some margin tears. Overall a quality item and the first we have seen for this Fengtien location along with the previous lot.About Uncirculated
