CHINA--REPUBLIC. Bank of China. 1 Yuan, 1918. P-51s.2 pieces in lot. Specimens. Shantung. A very interesting lot that shows two specimen notes that have been treated with harsh chemicals for trial purposes. Original documentation accompanies the lot stating one specimen was treated with sodium carbonate (alkali) and another with sulfur. The sulfur treated note shows with darkened inks that lost no detail. the alkali note shows with the inks dissolved to a degree at right. Small envelope also included stating "2 specimen notes which have been treated with chemicals." Certainly a terrific conversation piece and one that will enhance any sophisticated collection.About Uncirculated
