KOREA. Octagonal Openwork Chatelaine with Attached Ribbons & Charms, ca. 19th Century.;144.32 x 118.01 mm; Mandel-105.2; KCBC-Y-22; KCY-I-33. Symmetrical openwork floral filigree design flanked by inward facing dragons. At the top is an intricately knotted red cord which has two seed coins and a charm attached. Around the neck of each dragon is a multi-colored tassel. Tied along the bottom portion of floral frame are six colored ribbons, which have (59) seed coins interlaced on them and end in several colored tabs. The seed coins are of many types with almost no repetition, and have had red, green & blue pigment applied, much of which still remains. A beautiful example. Some of the ribbons are slightly frayed at the ends and there is one small crack in front of the left dragon, otherwise a wholesome and original piece.;CHOICE VERY FINE.
