Left end, ornate indent and small ship vignette. Back, ornamental pattern frame; denomination and "DEATH TO COUNTERFEIT". First series James River Bank note and rarer than the 1775 types. This example displays light circulation with darkly printed inks. A small split at top center has been closed on the back with archival tape. Still a well preserved example of this scarce Virginia Colonial type.
