1825 Matron Head Cent. N-8. Rarity-3. AU-58 (PCGS).;Medium olive-brown with nuances of deep tan and mottled mahogany on the obverse. The reverse is more uniform light olive-brown and steel. A few small abrasions are noted in the hair, on the bun and on the cheek, while the reverse is fairly smooth in terms of handling. A bit of soft luster remains in the protected areas.<p>Struck from the later state of the obverse die as described by Noyes, with a faint crack visible extending from the rim through the left of star 6 to the coronet. Some peripheral flowlining though much of the inner circle around the obverse is clearly visible. The plate coin in John D.
