1820/19 Matron Head Cent. N-1. Rarity-1. AU-55 (PCGS).;Deep steel-brown with subtle traces of faded mahogany blended into the obverse. The reverse is gently mottled deep olive and steel. Glossy surfaces and pleasing eye appeal. A reverse abrasion over ONE is particularly noteworthy, while others are broadly scattered and minor. Minor softness on the high points but evenly struck. Die states are the earliest described by Noyes, but late within the state, as there are obvious flowlines and some softening of the dentils. However, the overdate remains clear on all digits. On the reverse, the repunching on the C in CENT remains visible, as does the connecting line between A and M of AMERICA. Noyes Die State A/A.;From our (Bowers and Merenas) Rogers M.
