1873-CC Trade Dollar. AU Details--Chopmarked (NGC).;At least seven chopmarks are present on the reverse over and around the eagle, those in the center obscuring much of the eagles plumage. The effects of the chopmarks can also be seen on the obverse, where the center, in particular, is bulged with some loss of detail. Those areas not affected are sharply defined, and both sides are uniformly toned in pale silver. The first year 1873-CC is among the scarcer trade dollars in an absolute sense, virtually the entire mintage of 124,500 pieces being exported to the Orient. On the other hand, with such extensive overseas use many of the survivors are chopmarked, as here.;
