MCMVII (1907) Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle. High Relief. Wire Rim. AU-55 (PCGS).;Attractive and delightfully preserved, this piece is an immensely desirable example of this prized 20th century rarity. The surfaces are wholly composed and free from hairlines, exhibiting just light friction across the high points. A light mark at the center of the sun on the reverse is the only noteworthy imperfection throughout, though even that fails to draw the eye without a glass. The wire rim has been dulled by light handling, but still remains pronounced around the majority of the obverse rim and at the upper reverse border. Truly wholesome in every respect.
