1971 Lincoln Cent. FS-101. Doubled Die Obverse. MS-66 RD (PCGS).;This is an easy DDO to spot, although perhaps not for the obvious reasons. Doubling is certainly readily evident on the word LIBERTY, the motto IN GOD WE TRUST and (to a lesser extent) the date. More prominent, however, is the fact that the obverse is struck from a slightly misaligned die with the result that it appears to be somewhat off center. We offer here a coin of importance to the advanced Registry Set collector -- it is tied with just five others as the finest certified example of the 1971 FS-101 Lincoln cent known to PCGS. Bursting with bright, satiny, pinkish rose luster, both sides are silky smooth in sheen to preclude notice of even trivial distractions. Fully struck and sharp, with a series of faint striations in both the obverse and reverse fields that are as struck. Beautiful!
