KM-TS1-10. 10 pieces in set. A grouping of obverse and reverse uniface trial strikes in gold. The denominations are Centesimo, 5 Centesimos, 1/10 Balboas, 1/4 Balboas and 1/2 Balboas. These were struck in .400 gold outside of the normal minting facility and without the consent of the National bank or government approval. Though dated 1982 the design is that of the following two years, 1983 and 1984 respectively. Possibly a proposed design which was modified and accepted for the new issues. A well matched set with plenty of intriguing history. Potential mintage for each piece is thought to be only 15, with the number of certified examples vastly lower than that. ARARE opportunity for the advanced collector of Panama coinage. A similar set realized $7,222 in the Dix Noonan Web September, 2011 auction. All with hard mirror fields and frosted cameo devices. A highly attractive well matched set.,NGC PROOF-64 (2), PROOF-65 (3), & PROOF-66 (5), all ULTRA CAMEO...From the Richard Stuart Collection.
