The 1903 Louisiana Purchase Exposition gold dollars, with either Jefferson or McKinley portrayed on the obverse, were the first commemorative gold dollar issues. Designed by Charles E. Barber, the two varieties have identical mintages of 17,500 pieces, and most collectors try to add both varieties to their collections. This Gem McKinley example in its original frosty gold finish is a great companion to the Jefferson variety listed earlier.

,PCGS# 7444. NGC ID: 26HB.,,
