Dominant steel-blue patina yields to areas of variegated silver and medium gray toward the centers. The strike is nicely centered and uniformly bold with plenty of detail. JR-1 is the most frequently encountered of the four known die marriages of the 1800 Draped Bust half dime, although in an absolute sense survivors are scarce and progressively more difficult to locate the higher one progresses up the numismatic grading scale.
