An exceptionally well preserved and attractive example of this challenging Denver Mint issue. Vibrant satin surfaces are smooth enough to evoke thoughts of an even higher Gem grade. The strike is a bit soft in the centers, over the bisons head on the reverse, and in the corresponding area at the left obverse border, perhaps explaining why PCGS settled on the MS-65 rating. We stress that the 1925-D is among the rarest Buffalo nickels with a sharp strike and the present example, with its expertly preserved surfaces and lovely pastel toning, is a superior quality offering that is sure to catch the eyes of astute specialists.,PCGS# 3955.
