Unlike the larger 8 Escudos which were struck for two years using two different die designs, the 4 Escudo was only struck in 1823, and with Iturbide being deposed in March of that same year, one can rightfully conclude the type is <strong>RARE</strong> in any condition. Light surface hairlines but with plenty of original prooflike field concealed within the legends.
