An exceedingly "French" looking design with prominent fleur de lis dominating the obverse central devices, and dated to April of 1814 in the legend. Presumably struck during the very brief period between the defeat of Napoleon on March 31 of that year, and the appointment in May of Louis XVIII as part of the Bourbon restoration. Medium argent gray toning with highly engaging peach and teal colors peering out from the protected areas.
