Chinese Banknotes / Paper Money from China, Empire, Qing Dynasty , Hu Pu (Board of Revenue) Chien Feng Official Bureau : 1,000-Cash, c.1850. Usual spike holes in upper portion of note, a small edge tear in the centre of the top margin and a small piece missing from right margin, otherwise a presentable very good and very scarce. Chien Feng was one of the semi-official banks set up by the Board of Revenue during the Hsien Feng reign and was the predecessor to the Hu Pu Bank (Ta Ching Government Bank). Very few notes of these semi-official banks are extant.
