Fr-317; KM-696; S-3801. VERY RARE. Krause catalog footnote indicates 6 or 7 examples known, though perhaps a few more are actually extant. Allegedly, most of the Sovereigns struck in 1828 were minted with dies dated 1827, thereby creating this great rarity which is missing from nearly all collections of British gold Sovereigns. Fully original with even wear and appealing coloration. A terrific opportunity that should not be missed to add this nearly impossible to find Sovereign.NGC FINE-15.
