A pleasing example of this important type from the Greater Japan Imperial National Bank. The Japanese National Banking system was not unlike the similar system used in the United States. The notes themselves were printed in the United States by the Continental Bank Note Co. and were later overprinted in Japan in red with specific offices. Research into the various branches that issued these notes continues, but due to their rarity, notes from all branches have not yet been observed.
