Some scratches on the obverse, but still a very presentable example which will please any collector of historical Chinese medals.Chang Hsueh-liang (Zhang Xueliang) was an instrumental figure in ending the Chinese Civil War, accommodating communist rule, and presenting a united front in opposition to the Japanese occupation. As such, he was one of the great heroes of Chinese 20th century history. This type was presented to graduates of Changs officer training school in Xian in June 1936.</em>
