Mercantile Bank of India, Hong Kong, specimen $50, 1.1.1930, no serial numbers, brown, sampan and boats at centre,(Pick 238s), PMG 65EPQ. A possibly underrated type in the cataloguers opinion as the $25 of the same series are more commonly talked about. Much like the $25, there are less than 4 issued notes for this type and currently the only way to obtain an uncirculated examples are through specimens and colour trials. PMG census 2nd highest grade, bested by only 1 higher grade example. An impressive piece with its classical design, intricate design, vibrant printing and original paper! Truely a trophy piece in any collection.
