NERO, A.D. 54-68. AE Sestertius (22.74 gms), Lugdunum Mint, ca. A.D. 65. NEARLY EXTREMELY FINE.RIC-432. Obverse: Laureate head right, with globus at point of neck; Reverse: Triumphal arch surmounted by statue of emperor in quadriga accompanied by Pax and Victory, flanked by two soldiers (torch bearers?), a nude, helmeted statue of Mars in side niche of arch, otherwise decorated with friezes of battle scenes. Some minor roughness is noted, but this dark green-brown specimen offers a quality portrait of the infamous emperor. For completeness, we note NGC has declined to encapsulate this example, rendering a "NO DECISION" opinion.
