Obverse: Bare-head bust of Leopold II right, perimeter legend, signature below bust; Reverse: Seated female allegory of Art and Industry seated on globe holding a long trumpet left, child holding wreath and palm frond right, collage of ships masts, building towers and vegetation in background; perimeter legend above, signature below; Edge: Plain. Hosting this Exposition was an attempt by Antwerp to reassert itself on the world stage after declining economic importance. An attractively designed medal.Donated to the American Numismatic Society to be sold to benefit its programs.
