EUROPEAN UNION / NETHERLANDS. European Central Bank. 200 Euro, 2002. P-6ps. Specimen. PMG Superb Gem Uncirculated 67 EPQ.Netherlands issue, with Duisenberg signature. Wim Duisenberg was an economist who was born in the Netherlands and served as the first President of the European Central Bank from 1998 to 2003, overseeing the introduction of the Euro on January 1st, 2002. Notes with his signature were fairly short-lived, and have steadily been increasing in demand over the years. The specimens, of course, were only produced in limited quantities and were never sold to collectors, making the available supply to collectors these days very limited. This is an attractive example of the 200 Euro in specimen format, with excellent color, and a very fresh and attractive appearance. Tied for finest in the PMG population report as of the time of cataloging.
