Eukratides I the Great was one of the most important rulers of the Greco-Bactrian Kingdom. During a roughly 26-year reign, he conquered large swaths of Pakistan and northern India and issued some of the finest coins of the ancient world, including a unique gold 20 stater (169.2g). It is through these miniature works of art bearing his image that he is remembered to this day.
